Basketball Game Preview: Knox Redskins vs. Jimtown Jimmies

The Knox Redskins will square off against the Jimtown Jimmies at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 13 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Knox and four for Jimtown.

Knox saw some tournament action two weeks ago. They took a 37-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lewis Cass.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Dirk Huff, who posted nine points. Teagen Johnson was another key player, putting up four points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Jimtown managed to keep up with South Bend St. Joseph until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Jimtown was dealt a 77-42 defeat at the hands of South Bend St. Joseph. While losing is never fun, the Jimmies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 199th, while the Huskies are ranked 16th).

Knox's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Jimtown, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Knox was able to grind out a solid win over Jimtown in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 54-47. Will Knox repeat their success, or does Jimtown have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
