Softball Recap: Marlboro's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, Marlboro finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Middletown North Lions by a score of 2-1. The Mustangs' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Emily Gaudio put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles.

Marlboro's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Middletown North, their record now sits at 7-3.
