Softball Game Preview: Hawkins Hawks vs. Como-Pickton Eagles

For the second straight game, Hawkins will face off against Como-Pickton. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Hawkins Hawks take on Como-Pickton Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Hawkins is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Como-Pickton just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 14-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Karsyn Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Taetum Smith was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

The win (which was Como-Pickton's seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-7. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.6 runs. As for Hawkins, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9-1.
