Volleyball Recap: River Find Success

The home team had won the previous four meetings between River and Magnolia, and River kept the tradition alive. The Pilots walked away with a 3-1 win over the Blue Eagles on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Pilots: when they faced off against the Blue Eagles two weeks ago, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-12, 24-26, 25-11.

Hallie Hammel paced River's offense, picking up 20 kills. Hammel got some help from Maci Isaly and her 42 assists. Isaly was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

The victory got River back to even at 9-9. As for Magnolia, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

River didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Catholic Central on the 1st. As for Magnolia, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Madonna on the 2nd.
