Baseball Recap: Desert Christian Finds Home Field Redemption Against Valley Torah

There's no place like home for Desert Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Valley Torah Wolfpack on Monday as they made off with a 12-2 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 22-0 last Friday.

Logan Mount was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run.

In other batting news, Seth Zeko was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Andrew Silva, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.

Desert Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Desert Christian's win bumped their record up to 7-8-2. As for Valley Torah, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-9.

Coming up, Desert Christian will head out to take on Paraclete at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Valley Torah, they will face off against Santa Clarita Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolfpack's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
