Baseball Recap: Mcdowell's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

McDowell had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Meadville Bulldogs. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 1-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

McDowell got a great performance from Ethan Bechtold as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Bechtold has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jake Hower, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Joey Stephan was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

McDowell's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Meadville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
