Baseball Game Preview: Guthrie Bluejays vs. Perkins-Tryon Demons

The Guthrie Bluejays will challenge the Perkins-Tryon Demons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Guthrie has five straight victories, Perkins-Tryon has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Guthrie's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Del City with a sharp 19-0 win. Fans of the Bluejays have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Meanwhile, Perkins-Tryon fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Glenpool on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 10-8. One positive for the Demons, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Perkins-Tryon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Guthrie, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Guthrie came up short against Perkins-Tryon when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 5-1. Can Guthrie avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
