Softball Recap: Magnificat Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Magnificat came out on top against Hudson on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Blue Streaks walked away with a 10-6 win over the Explorers. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Blue Streaks considering their two-run performance the match before.

The team relied heavily on Ella Lopez, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Haley Wheeler, who went 2-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Magnificat was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .410. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Magnificat's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-16. As for Hudson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Magnificat will face off against Lake Catholic at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Blue Streaks are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Hudson, they will challenge Steele at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
