Football Recap: Jo Byrns Comes Up Short

After flying high against Todd County Central last Friday, Jo Byrns came back down to earth. The Red Devils took a 35-21 bruising from the Ezell-Harding Christian Eagles on Thursday. The Red Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.

Terris Smith had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 324 yards and three TDs on only 13 carries for Ezell-Harding Christian. Smith's longest rush was for an incredible 81 yards. Julian Murdic was another key player, throwing for 146 yards and one touchdown on only ten passes.

Jo Byrns' loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Ezell-Harding Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jo Byrns will face off against Christian Community at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Ezell-Harding Christian, they will square off against Friendship Christian at 7:30 p.m. on the 26th.
