Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sterling). They claimed a resounding 94-60 victory over the Alleman Pioneers. Given the Golden Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Pioneers are ranked 524th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Sterling and bumps their season record up to 13-13. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 88.0 points over those games. As for Alleman, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-22.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sterling won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Wheaton-Warrenville South at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Alleman, they will be playing at home against Quincy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
