Baseball Recap: Sebring Extends Winning Streak to Three

Sebring waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the John Carroll Catholic Rams 2-0. This was payback for the Blue Streaks, who suffered a 5-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Not much got past Zach Huret, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep John Carroll Catholic off the board. Those nine strikeouts gave Huret a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jamarcus Gomez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Sebring's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for John Carroll Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.

Looking ahead, Sebring will be playing in front of their home fans against Auburndale at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for John Carroll Catholic, they will face off against Dwyer at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
