Baseball Game Preview: Tates Creek Commodores vs. Lafayette Generals

For the second straight game, Tates Creek will face off against Lafayette. The Commodores are taking a road trip to challenge the Generals at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last three times Tates Creek and Lafayette have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Commodores came out on top against the Generals by a score of 6-1.

Blake Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

On the hitting side, Finley Insko was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

Tates Creek's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Lafayette, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-11.
