Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus). They came out on top against the Morgan Park Academy Warriors by a score of 76-66 on Friday. Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus' win was all the more impressive since the Warriors were averaging only 28.58 points allowed on the season.

Despite the loss, Morgan Park Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tiara Williams posted 41 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That was a full 62.1% of Morgan Park Academy's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Sheppard, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine steals.

Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Morgan Park Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 16-3 record.

Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus and Morgan Park Academy's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus will face off against Beacon Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, a team that's only allowed 29.36 points per game. Similarly, Morgan Park Academy and Lycee Francais de Chicago (who has only given up 24.33 points per game) will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
