Baseball Recap: Three Straight Road Victories for Barberton

Barberton hadn't beaten Aurora on the road since May 4, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Magics walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Greenmen. The Magics have beaten the Greenmen the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Greenmen has come to flipping the script.

Javon Clayton was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cam McNulty, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Barberton pushed their record up to 10-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Aurora, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16.

Barberton and Aurora could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Magics (ranked 372nd) will meet Highland (ranked 37th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Aurora will square off against Independence at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (464 vs. 203).
