Baseball Game Preview: Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs vs. Coronado Cougars

The Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs will face off against the Coronado Cougars at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Pueblo Centennial is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against La Junta, falling 20-8.

Robert Garcia was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Chaz Brooks was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Coronado lost 18-3 to Palmer Ridge on Wednesday. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Coronado saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Billy Ratican, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another was Xavier Rodriguez, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Coronado's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Pueblo Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Pueblo Centennial beat Coronado 11-6 in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
