Basketball Recap: Taylor Wildcats vs. Crooms Academy Panthers
Taylor easily dispatched Warner Christian Academy back in December of 2024, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Taylor Wildcats fell just short of the Crooms Academy Panthers by a score of 72-70 on Wednesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game back in December of 2024 (67), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Taylor still got an impressive performance from James Thomas, who went 11 of 18 on his way to 23 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists. Thomas is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Zachery McKinnon, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds.
Thomas wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Taylor was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Crooms Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Julian Gill, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenai Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.
