Baseball Game Preview: Brito Panthers vs. Schoolhouse Prep Wolfpack

For the second straight game, Brito will face off against Schoolhouse Prep. The Panthers will face off against the Wolfpack at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brito is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Brito is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Schoolhouse Prep 6-5.

Noah Nevarez looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

At the plate, Brito's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hector Santos, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs Santos has posted since back in March. Samuel Castro was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Schoolhouse Prep and nudges their season record down to 13-12. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Brito, their victory bumped their record up to 13-14.
