Baseball Game Preview: Lennard Longhorns vs. Sumner Stingrays

The Lennard Longhorns will take on the Sumner Stingrays at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Lennard's offense. They came up short against Strawberry Crest on Saturday, falling 8-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Longhorns in their meetings with the Chargers: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Sumner was able to grind out a solid victory over Blake on Saturday, taking the game 7-2.

Christian Duncan looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed a strikeout, marking his first of the season.

On the hitting side, Jaylin Chambers was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Sebastian Peralta was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Sumner's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10. As for Lennard, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.

Lennard skirted past Sumner 5-4 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Does Lennard have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sumner turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
