Basketball Recap: Unaka's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Unaka had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 45-39 W against the North Greene Huskies. This was a revenge game for the Rangers: when they faced off against the Huskies last Friday, they had to take a 42-35 defeat.

Leading Unaka to victory were Michelle Shields and Brooklyn Campbell. Shields en route to 18 points, while Campbell posted 12 points and seven boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Shields has scored at least a third of Unaka's points. Kalli Shepard was another key player, putting up nine points.

Unaka's victory bumped their record up to 22-8. As for North Greene, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 27-4.

As of now, neither Unaka nor North Greene have any future games scheduled.
