            Volleyball Recap: Newark Memorial Cougars vs. Mission San Jose Warriors        
        
		
        
        
            Newark Memorial came into their game  on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against  the Mission San Jose Warriors, falling  3-0. The  loss   continues a  trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost six in a row.
 While Newark Memorial was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Mission San Jose's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-18,  25-20.
 Malia Kuehn paced Newark Memorial's offense, picking up seven kills. Kuehn got some help from  Gianna Adame and her 22 assists.  Erin Santos controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Newark Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Mission San Jose, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record  this season.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Newark Memorial will  square off against  rival Kennedy  at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mission San Jose is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Irvington  at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
