Basketball Recap: Memphis Home Education Association vs. Briarcrest Christian Saints
After a string of five wins, Memphis Home Education Association's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 46-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Briarcrest Christian. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Memphis Home Education Association in their matchups with the Saints: they've now lost eight in a row.
Briarcrest Christian found their leader in underclassman Kendall Jones, who scored 17 points along with five steals. Jones hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Hallie Turner, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Memphis Home Education Association's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4. As for Briarcrest Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Memphis Home Education Association's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Saints at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. As for Briarcrest Christian, they will face off against the Stars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Agnes Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Saints are ranked 103rd).
