Soccer Recap: Calvary Christian Comes Up Short

Calvary Christian lost against Woodland Baptist Christian two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougar came up short against the Eagles, falling 5-1. While losing is never fun, Calvary Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 403rd, while Woodland Baptist Christian are ranked 82nd).

Calvary Christian has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Woodland Baptist Christian, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

Looking ahead, Calvary Christian will head out on the road to take on Shining Light Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Woodland Baptist Christian, they will challenge Raleigh Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Raleigh Christian Academy will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more goals each game than the last.
