Basketball Recap: Weldon Chargers vs. Southeast Halifax Trojans
Weldon lost against Southeast Halifax back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Weldon Chargers came up short against the Southeast Halifax Trojans, falling 73-50.
Southeast Halifax found their leader in sophomore O'Tavion Arrington, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 boards. Those 25 points gave Arrington a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamarian Webb, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.
Weldon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Southeast Halifax, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Weldon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-50 loss against North Edgecombe on the 7th. As for Southeast Halifax, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-40 defeat against Warren County on the 10th.
