Football Game Preview: Branford Hornets vs. Wilbur Cross Governors

The Branford Hornets will take on the Wilbur Cross Governors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Branford has four straight victories, Wilbur Cross has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Saturday, Branford humbled East Catholic with a 54-14 victory. Fans of the Hornets have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Meanwhile, Wilbur Cross was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 14-10 to Harding.

Wilbur Cross' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Branford, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Everything came up roses for Branford against Wilbur Cross when the teams last played back in November of 2023, as the squad secured a 44-0 victory. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Governors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
