Ovid-Elsie waltzed into their contest on Monday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They managed a 46-40 win over the Durand Railroaders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 60-44 back in December of 2024.

Durand lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Raine Smith, who posted 18 points along with five boards and three steals. Taylor Carlson was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Ovid-Elsie pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.3 points per game. As for Durand, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Ovid-Elsie will square off against Chesaning at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ovid-Elsie's defense has only allowed 26.5 points per game this season, so Chesaning's offense will have their work cut out for them. Durand has already played their next matchup (against Lakeville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
