Softball Recap: Corinth Takes a Loss

Corinth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 10-3 to the Lafayette Commodores. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Commodores this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 last Tuesday.

Addyson Moore made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Kinley Pittman was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Moore wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Corinth lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Corinth's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Lafayette, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Corinth will challenge rival New Hope at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lafayette is set to square off against their familiar foe Pontotoc at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
