Softball Game Preview: Booker T. Washington Wildcats vs. Central Jaguars

Booker T. Washington is 0-10 against Central since February of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Jaguars at 5:45 p.m. Booker T. Washington has given up an average of 16.4 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Booker T. Washington came up short against Pensacola Catholic on Friday, falling 23-12. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Skylar Brown was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring four runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Lana Van Wyck, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Escambia.

Addie Holland and Natalie Blair stepped up to the plate in a big way. Holland scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Blair scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Maryanne Gunter was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Booker T. Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Booker T. Washington suffered a grim 20-2 defeat to Central in their previous matchup back in February. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
