Baseball Recap: Booneville Extends Winning Streak to Three

Booneville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Mantachie Mustangs as they made off with a 16-6 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Blue Devils also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Jacob Matthews, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Rillee Starkey also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Booneville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mantachie only posted an OBP of .385.

Booneville's record is now 10-14. As for Mantachie, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Booneville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
