Volleyball Recap: South Elgin Takes a Loss

South Elgin lost against Palatine back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Storm fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 2-1.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-14, 26-24.

Camryn Boyd paced South Elgin's offense, picking up 11 kills. Boyd got some help from Paige Genke and her 24 assists. Ava Ritchie and Brianna Decheva kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

South Elgin has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 24-12 record this season. As for Palatine, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 28-7.

South Elgin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Palatine, they will head out to face off against Barrington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
