Basketball Game Preview: Symmes Valley Vikings vs. Eastern Eagles

Symmes Valley hasn't had much luck against Eastern recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Symmes Valley Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eastern Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Symmes Valley sitting on four straight victories and Eastern on seven.

On Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Symmes Valley beat Northwest 58-52.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Symmes Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bronx Carpenter, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ethan Smith, who posted 16 points and six boards.

Symmes Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Eastern posted their closest win since January 3rd on Saturday. They had just enough and edged New Hope Christian Academy out 64-62.

Eastern's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.1 points per game. As for Symmes Valley, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.
