Basketball Recap: Newman AAA Drops Highest Score of Season Against Non Varsity Opponent

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newman AAA). They took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 112-56 win over Non Varsity Opponent. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Leading Newman AAA to victory were Chase Geremia and Reggie Grodin. Geremia went 7 of 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 23 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds, while Grodin went 8 for 9 en route to 18 points and three steals. That's the most assists Geremia has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Costello, who went 5 of 7 to rack up 14 points.

Newman AAA's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-7.

Looking ahead, Newman AAA will square off against Non Varsity Opponent on Saturday. Non Varsity Opponent has already played their next game (against Campbell), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
