Softball Recap: Cathedral Catholic Finds Home Field Redemption Against Imperial

There's no place like home for Cathedral Catholic, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let the Imperial Tigers get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Dons have posted since March 28th.

The result came thanks to Mimi Botticelli's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Riley Marlin was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Cathedral Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Imperial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 22-7.

As of now, neither Cathedral Catholic nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
