Game recap: Northland Christian High School Football Team bests Second Baptist

HOUSTON, Texas - Northland Christian (Houston, Texas) put up seven points in the fourth quarter in Saturday's game to seal their 42-17 victory over Second Baptist (Houston, Texas).

After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the second quarter, the Cougars led 28-10 at the half.

Each side put up seven points during the third quarter, and the fourth quarter began with the margin still at 18.

With the win Northland Christian extended its winning streak to 12 games. NC defeated the Lions 43-36 last week.

Darien Simms stood out for the Cougars in the win. The junior ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 14 touchdowns on the season.



Northland Christian came in allowing an average of 21.1 points per game this season.

When the two teams played each other last season, NC came away with a 33-23 victory.

The defeat comes as a step back for Second Baptist, which notched a 52-35 victory over Holy Cross in its previous outing. The loss snapped the Fighting Eagles' 2-game winning streak.
