Recap: Western Christian Fighting Lancers vs. Linfield Christian Lions

The Western Christian Fighting Lancers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 44-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Linfield Christian. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.

JJ Hooper and Jared Doolittle, Western Christian certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Hooper picked up 201 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Doolittle threw for 317 yards and four touchdowns. Hooper's longest reception was for an incredible 74 yards.

Linfield Christian was led to victory by John Reynoso and Thomas Paschal. Reynoso rushed for 150 yards, while Paschal rushed for 20 yards and a touchdown. Reynoso is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Jeremy Maloney did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in three field goals and five extra points.

Western Christian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Linfield Christian, the win was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.

Western Christian will look to defend their home field on Friday against Trinity Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. Trinity Classical Academy is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak. As for Linfield Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Riverside Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Riverside Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 931st, while Linfield Christian is ranked 448th).
