The Sheldon Panthers lost against the Jefferson Independent Day Cavaliers last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Sheldon took a 39-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jefferson Independent Day. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sheldon in their matchups with Jefferson Independent Day: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Sheldon had strong showings from Wynsdae Connelly, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Mariam Lamb, who scored 14 points along with two steals. That was a full 45.2% of Sheldon's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Sheldon's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Jefferson Independent Day, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Sheldon will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Bronaugh at 5:30 p.m. Bronaugh is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for Jefferson Independent Day, they will head out on the road to face off against Northeast Vernon County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
