The home team had come away the winner the last four times Northridge and Johnstown-Monroe had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Vikings skirted past the Johnnies 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted against the Johnnies since September 7, 2021.

Northridge wouldn't go down easily and took Johnstown-Monroe into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-20, 25-22, 23-25, 15-12.

McKenna Ellis paced Northridge's offense, picking up 14 kills. Ellis got some help from Abigail Sharpe and her 30 assists. Jasmine Easterday controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Johnstown-Monroe's loss on Tuesday came despite strong showings from Luciana Smith and Addy Hazelbaker. Smith had 30 digs and one assist, while Hazelbaker had 11 digs, two aces, and one block. Hazelbaker is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season.

Northridge's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Johnstown-Monroe, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Northridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Heath on the 4th. As for Johnstown-Monroe, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Lakewood on the 4th.
