Basketball Recap: Sky View Falls Despite Big Games from Mollee Allen and Mya Eskelson

Sky View lost against Green Canyon back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Sky View Bobcats took a 64-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Green Canyon Wolves. While the Bobcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wolves 17-12 in the first quarter.

Sky View's loss came despite strong showings from Mya Eskelson and Mollee Allen. Eskelson went 6 for 12 on her way to 19 points and five assists, while Allen posted 14 points and five boards. The dominant performance gave Allen a new career-high in points. Liv Mckay also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Green Canyon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Claire Brown, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Mya Hinds was another key player, putting up 15 points and five assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Sky View and nudges their season record down to 11-7. As for Green Canyon, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-9.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Bear River the next time they take the court. Green Canyon will head out to face Bear River at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Sky View will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th.
