Baseball Game Preview: Westlake Warriors vs. Thousand Oaks Lancers

For the second straight game, Westlake will face off against Thousand Oaks. The Warriors will face off against the Lancers at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westlake's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Thousand Oaks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Tuesday, Westlake needed a bit of extra time to put away Thousand Oaks. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lancers, sneaking past 3-2. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Connor Jacobson tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Mason Berlinger was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Mason Charles, who went 2-for-5 with one home run.

Westlake's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Thousand Oaks, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.
