Basketball Recap: Barr-Reeve Comes Up Short

After flying high against Shoals last Tuesday, Barr-Reeve came back down to earth. The Barr-Reeve Vikings were dealt a 76-34 defeat at the hands of the South Knox Spartans on Thursday. The Vikings have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Barr-Reeve still got an impressive performance from Hannah Bledsoe, who went 6 of 10 en route to 17 points and five boards. Bledsoe has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played.

Barr-Reeve's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7. As for South Knox, their win was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-2.

When Barr-Reeve and South Knox next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Barr-Reeve will try to stop Shakamak's four-game winning streak when the meet at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, South Knox will face off against Evansville Central and their 12-game winning streak at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
