Richfield waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with an 85-76 victory over the Robbinsdale Cooper Hawks. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Hawks are ranked 278th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Richfield has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 88.5 points per game. As for Robbinsdale Cooper, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-9.

The future could be bright for both Richfield and Robbinsdale Cooper: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Richfield will try to hand Mound-Westonka their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Robbinsdale Cooper will look to extend Simley's seven-game losing streak when the meet at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
