Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Avery Pogue and Avery Gardener Lead Webb City to Victory

Webb City's tournament run continued when they took on Bishop LeBlond on Saturday. The Cardinals came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagles, sneaking past 2-1.

Webb City had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-15, 25-22.

Leading Webb City to victory were Avery Gardener and Avery Pogue. Gardener had 22 digs, while Pogue had ten digs. That's the most digs Gardener has posted since back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Bishop LeBlond lost, don't look at Brylee Miller. Despite the final result, she had 13 digs.

Webb City's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Bishop LeBlond, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Webb City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Liberty North on the 30th. As for Bishop LeBlond, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Odessa on the 30th.
