Basketball Recap: Tanque Verde Comes Up Short

After flying high against Rio Rico on Friday, Tanque Verde came back down to earth. The Hawks took a hard 67-51 fall against the Mountain View Mountain Lions on Saturday. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 70-46 to the Mountain Lions when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Daniel Anumba continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mountain View, dropping a double-double with 35 points and 20 rebounds. With that strong performance, Anumba is now averaging an impressive 16.5 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Kosanke, who posted nine points and three steals.

Tanque Verde's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Mountain View, the win also got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Tanque Verde will look to defend their home court on Monday against Sahuaro at 7:00 p.m. As for Mountain View, they are taking a road trip to challenge Nogales at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
