Baseball Game Preview: Faustina Academy Falcons vs. North Texas C Crusaders

The Faustina Academy Falcons will venture away from home to take on the North Texas C Crusaders on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Falcons fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. Everything went their way against Roosevelt on Tuesday as Faustina Academy made off with a 19-3 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Falcons as it put an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Adam Burud made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Burud was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Faustina Academy got a massive performance out of Luca Nussmeier, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Nick Jeggle was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Faustina Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Roosevelt only posted an OBP of .438.

Meanwhile, North Texas C was not the first on the board last Saturday, but they got there more often. They put the hurt on Lakehill Prep with a sharp 15-5 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Crusaders.

The team relied heavily on Aiden Isham, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1. Another player making a difference was Jack Trainor, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
