Edgewood has gone 9-1 against Lakeside recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Dragons at 4:30 p.m. Edgewood is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last ten games.
Edgewood proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 13) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Jefferson Area 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted against the Falcons since April 6, 2022.
Lucianna Paolillo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Faith Vencill was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Addison Lamson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Edgewood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in nine consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Lakeside came up short against Geneva on Thursday, falling 12-3. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lakeside saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lyla Hamilton, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Edgewood's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Lakeside, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
Lakeside's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Edgewood has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Lakeside, though, as they've been averaging 9 hits. Given Edgewood's sizable advantage in that area, the Dragons will need to find a way to close that gap.
Edgewood got the 'W' in their previous meeting two weeks ago against Lakeside by a conclusive 16-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
