Baseball Game Preview: Beaufort Academy Eagles vs. Whale Branch Warriors

After both having extra time off, the Beaufort Academy Eagles and the Whale Branch Warriors will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Andrew Jackson Academy hit Beaufort Academy with a nine-run fifth inning last Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles lost 10-0 to the Warriors. The game marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Whale Branch was not able to break out of their rough patch last Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Battery Creek, falling 10-4. The game snapped a strange streak: the last three times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Whale Branch saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Franklin Lawton, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Elijah Hunt also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Whale Branch's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Beaufort Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
