Basketball Recap: Gulf's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Gulf didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Classical Prep Lions by a score of 54-44 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Buccaneers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Gulf's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tajinae Bonney, who posted 17 points in addition to seven steals and six boards. Bonney is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Brenniyah Hall, who had six points in addition to 11 steals and six assists.

Gulf's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Classical Prep, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Gulf wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 69-34 defeat against Mitchell on the 10th. As for Classical Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-7 win against Angeline Academy of Innovation on the 9th.
