Basketball Recap: Cedaredge Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Cedaredge Bruins took a blow against the Peyton Panthers, falling 73-41. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while the Panthers are ranked 100th).

Despite the loss, Cedaredge saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Logan Sanders posted 14 points. Sanders continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Cedaredge has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. Peyton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Cedaredge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Peyton, they will face off against Bayfield on Friday. Peyton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Bayfield likes a good challenge.
