Softball Recap: West Comes Up Short

If West was riding high fresh off their 16-9 takedown of Foothill last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Spartans on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost eight in a row.

West's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for South, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Spartans beat West by a score of 19-4 on Thursday.
