Basketball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Grace Christian's 11th in Last 12 Outings

Grace Christian extended their home winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Jordan Speller. The Grace Christian Crusaders came out on top against the NC GBB Academy National Eagles by a score of 73-65 on Thursday thanks in part to Speller, who posted 30 points along with seven assists and four steals. Her evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Halisi WHitley, who scored eight points in addition to six assists and five rebounds. Those five boards gave her a new career-high.

Grace Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.1 points per game. As for NC GBB Academy National, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.

Grace Christian and NC GBB Academy National should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Grace Christian will face off against Ravenscroft at 5:30 p.m. on Friday up 175 places (4 vs. 179). Grace Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.4 points per game this season. Meanwhile, NC GBB Academy National (ranked eighth) will meet Winston Salem Christian (ranked 56th) on February 7th.
