Recap: Albion Purple Eagles vs. Medina Mustangs

The Albion Purple Eagles came into Friday's contest having lost nine straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 50-41 win over Medina on Friday. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Albion has managed all season.

Despite the loss, Medina still got an impressive performance from Justin Pitts, who scored 17 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerrell Nealy, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds.

Albion's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-8. As for Medina, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost ten of their last 13 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Albion didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 76-34 defeat vs. Warsaw on the 10th. Medina will be playing in front of their home fans against Barker at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New York (Barker is ranked 691st, while Medina is ranked 674th).
